Traditionally, comfrey symbolizes safety when traveling and money. For my family, it is a healing powerhouse.
I was introduced to comfrey about 10 years ago when our family was volunteering at the garden at Rudolf Steiner College. We brought back a cutting and stuck it in the ground. One tiny root, one weak little leaf. Today we’ve planted comfrey all over the property. We use it for compost and for our skin. Yes, the skin!
It was this plant that cured my daughters eczema. It has sealed off cuts and minimized scars made from kitchen burns. It has made itself into controversial home teas for drinking and compost teas for thirsty plants. It makes it way into our salves and into our soaps. - Judith
